Lesser than dirt, rougher than rock: ideology, industry, and censorships in Korean comics until 1979

Абстракт

Тази студия очертава сложната и оспорвана история на корейските комикси, като разкрива как националистическите наративи оформят официалната историята на ме­дията. Проследява се развитието на комикс индустрията на полуострова от възможните й ранни влияния, трансформацията ѝ по време на японската окупация и първите десетиле­тия след освобождението. Специално внимание е отделено на влиянието на диктатурата на Парк Чунг-хи, включително прилагането на строги политики на цензура, създаването на система за отдаване на комикси под наем, и формирането на монопол. Студията се фо­кусира върху ролите на идеологията на режима върху пролиферацията на комикс жанрове за момчета и потискането на комиксите за момичета. Изследването допринася за по-дъл­бокото разбиране на развитието на корейската популярна култура, сложната й връзка с японското културно влияние и политическия климат по време на Студената война.
