Институционализиране на грижата за бедните и нуждаещите се от християнската църква на прехода от Античност към Средновековие: I-IX в

Абстракт

Настоящата студия разглежда историческите процеси, свързани с институционализирането на грижите за бедните и нуждаещите се от Църквата в периода на преход от Античност към Средновековие. Представени са различните етапи и форми на социална защита, които Църквата регламентира в периода на ранното християнство до началото на IX в. Проследяват се отделните насоки в институционалната грижа – от подпомагане на бедни и нуждаещи се (diaconiae, xenodochia, ξενοδοχεῖα), през здравни и социални грижи (hospitalia), до цялостната им регламентация, чрез дейността на манастирите (monasteriа). Разгледани са както общовалидните обществени форми за социална закрила, прилагани от различните християнски деноминации (до разделянето им през 1054 г. на източно византийско православие и западен римокатолицизъм), така и специфичните отлики, чрез които тя успява да се наложи като основен осъществяващ социални дейности през Ранното средновековие.
