Abstract

The paper presents results from empirical research on the attitudes o f 4th grade primary school students towards developing intercultural competence, carried out in four Bulgarian cities. The aims o f the present research are the following: to determine whether English language school curriculum for the 4~Ih grade facilitates the development of intercultural competence, to determine students' attitudes towards otherness and to provide guidelines for creating and testing texts with content that is suitable for the development o f intercultural competence.
