Personalize learning in primary schools

Abstract

In this paper is made an attempt to present some useful ideas about personalizing learning in primary schools. The educational experts from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and teachers from Bulgarian primary schools were asked to express their opinion about different activities for stimulating more students' responsibility and encouraging individual choices in the instruction relevant to their characteristics and preferences. It is shared the opinion that the students have more various real opportunities for deeper understandings and higher achievements when the instruction is relevant to individual characteristics and preferences. Respondents' attitudes towards these different ideas about personalizing learning in primary schools reveal some important perspectives for improving the teacher education and qualification (teacher education and qualification about educational uses of the learners' electronic portfolio for example).
