21st century education students and teachers

Abstract

Study overviews main challenge for 21st century teachers, related to changes in education and features of the 21st century students. Objects of analyses are: the changes in Bulgaria and Bulgarian education at the beginning of the 21st century; the world changes and tendencies and what kind of knowledge, skills and competences are needed for students-citizens of the 21st century; educational reforms with stress on two patterns which have international popularity - „The 3 compasses of the 21st century education“ and „Р21 Framwork for the 21st century learning“. Some possible decisions about teacher education are summarized.
