On the identification of points by continuous maps from the torus to the plane

Abstract

Continuous maps from a 2-dimensional torus to the plane are considered. N.Khadzhiivanov has proved for such maps that they identify a pair of distant points (c[1]). Later he has precised the situation of these points. The present proof of this result belongs to the both authors.
