The educational service offered to those wishing to obtain higher education is delivered in a
competitive environment, shaped on the one hand by the labor market and personnel consumers,
158
and on the other by educational institutions. For this meeting between these two sides to be
possible, dialogue and joint work are necessary, which should be reflected in the specialties and
their curricula and programs, while simultaneously creating conditions for acquiring skills in a
real work environment through internships and mentoring from potential employers. Whether
this occurs, whether the skills and knowledge acquired by the graduates of the Department of
“Library Science, Scientific Information, and Cultural Policy” at Sofia University “St. Kliment
Ohridski” are recognized as significant for the labor market, and how and where the employment
realization of the graduates takes place are the questions addressed by this publication.
