The Digital Transformation – a main activity in the National Research Programs of the Ministry of Education and Science in which takes part the Central Library of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences

Abstract

The Central Library of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences was involved in the process of digitization of the national cultural heritage from 2011. The result is more than 405 950 files in 26 collections. In the framework of the National research program Cultural-historical heritage,national memory and social development (2019–2021) the Library realizes the digitization of the literary periodicals from the first half of 20th century. Every bibliographic record has a cross link from ALEPH 500 to the full text in DSpace. The new program Development and Recognition of the Bulgarian Studies Abroad the Library will create a bibliographic database and a digital collection in Bulgarian Studies in ALEPH 500. It will encompass among other things more than 60 volumes of the three world Congresses of Bulgarian Studies through scanning, processing and cross-referencing of METS files.
