Относно проблема за класификацията на семитските езици

Абстракт

Повод за написването на тази статия е модернизирането на класификацията на семитските езици, което изцяло отхвърля наличието на общност, определяема като „южносемитски езици“. Основен довод за тази радикална промяна спрямо традиционното разбиране е тезата, че класическият етиопски език (геез) и съвременните семитски езици в Етиопия и Южна Арабия притежават имперфектив от акадски тип, какъвто в древния южноарабски език няма. Но може ли това становище да се смята за безспорно и дава ли то нужните основания за подобно преосмисляне?
