Септуагинта между свидетелския разказ и легендата: две антични версии за създаването на един превод

Абстракт

Така нареченото Писмо на Аристей е съставено през II в. пр.Хр. от елинизиран еврейски автор в Александрия. То претендира, че е свидетелски разказ за обстоятелствата, при които бива създаден старогръцкият превод на еврейското Петокнижие, известен като Септуагинта. Два века по-късно Филон Александрийски разгръща Аристеевия наратив, като добавя към него чудотворен елемент, с цел да легитимира Септуагинта като превод, вдъхновен от самия Бог. Тъй като съдържа първото запазено описание на конкретен преводен процес, в последните години Писмото на Аристей влиза в полезрението на пре-водоведите. При все това дори в авторитетни научни публикации се наблюдава известно объркване относно точните компоненти на легендата, погрешно приписвани на една или друга версия. Целта на настоящата студия е да предостави български превод на двата антични откъса, поставени в съответния исторически контекст и придружени с обзор на легендата през вековете. В заключение се изказва твърдението, че двете версии отразяват два различни възгледа за превода на свещени текстове, които според нас могат да бъдат отнесени към дихотомията на Йероним „преводач/пророк“ - патристично съответствие на Цицероновото „преводач/оратор“.
