Abstract

The practical training of students of pedagogical specialties is one of the most essential stages in their education. The main task of practical training is to provide space and opportunity for students to integrate theory, acquire practical skills and attitudes for social pedagogical work. Therefore, the organization and conduct of practical training is a responsible task for all parties involved in it – supervisors, students, specialists. The present paper discusses the organizational dimensions of practical training of students of the Bachelor’s degree program “Social Pedagogy” in the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, as well as the results of a research based on which the main challenges and directions for the development of practical training of future specialists are highlighted.     Assoc. Professor Aleksandar Ranev, PhD is a lecturer at the Faculty of Educational Sciences and the Arts at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Bulgaria.

    His scientific interests are in the field of pedagogy, education, social pedagogy, classroom management, alternative education, challenging behavior support. He has practical experience in working with children with emotional and behavioral difficulties, working with youngsters in social services. His scholarly contributions include two scientific monographs, multiple research studies and numerous scientific articles.
