The Bulgarian Moslems and the New Regime, 1944–1948

The study deals with the process of the esstablishment of the Communist regime, the forceful distruction of the "Rodina/Motherland" organisation and the gradual implementation of the Communist party aprroach as a state policy about the Bulgarian Moslems. In that context the process of transformation of the policy of the previous regime and the policy of restoration of the Turkish-Arabic personal names, of their cultural custem and of their religious system. Parallely the political development of the country is depicted as a factor in the life of the Bulgarian Moslems. Attention is also paid of the developeement of the Bulgarian-Greek territorial dispute and its influence upon the problem. In that connection the participations of the population in the parlamentary illegal opposition is reaserched.
