Archiving and accessibility

In accordance with its Electronic Security and Preservation Policy, GSU-IF is committed to safeguarding published research by ensuring accessibility and maintaining its own digital archive. As a result, readers have free access to the full text of articles published in the journal on the Annual’s website, where both entire issues and individual articles are available. The website complies with the EU Web and Mobile Accessibility Directive and the European Accessibility Act through the use of Open Journal Systems (OJS), which presents content in a standardised web layout that is optimised for interpretation and reproduction by digital accessibility tools. Additionally, the Annual is available in a soft cover book format, printed by the  “St. Kliment Ohridski” University Press, and made available free of charge (shipping costs may apply).

The use of Open Journal Systems (OJS) content management software enables automatic digital preservation of all published content through the Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network (PKP PN). This service, based on the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) programme, provides digital preservation for OJS journals, ensuring long-term preservation and access to the authentic original version of the journal’s content. On the occasion of a triggering event, such as the cessation of operations by the journal or publisher, all digitally preserved content within PKP PN will be made available to the public. Furthermore, in accordance with the Bulgarian legal framework and publishing regulations, in particular the Law on the Obligatory Deposit of All Printed and Other Works and the Notification of Distributors and Media Service Providers, all printed issues of the “Annual of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” - Faculty of History” are preserved and accessible in the Central University Library of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski,” the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius,” and all regional libraries in the Republic of Bulgaria. They are also distributed through the global inter-library exchange system.
