The Prehistoric Settlement Near Negovantsi, Radomir Region

The settlement was explored through small soundings in 1983. It was established that the site was inhabited during the Late Eneolithic (Krivodol-Sălcuța culture), the Early Bronze Age, and the Early Iron Age. Remains from undisturbed construction horizons were discovered only from the Late Eneolithic. Some of the findings support the hypothesis that the settlement was built on a pile platform. It is also possible that the Early Bronze Age settlement was pile-built, as the marshy terrain would not have allowed for a different type of construction during that period.
