Абстракт

Настоящата работа е посветена на изследването на реакцията на британското обществено мнение към един от най-важните етапи в обединението на Германия – Австро-пруската война от 1866 г. Като източници са използвани документи и материали, отразяващи всички направления на британския политически живот в средата на 60-те години на XIX в. Особено внимание е отделено на британската политическа преса – вестници и списания с разнообразна политическа ориентация (The Times, Examiner, Morning Post, Evening Mail, Globe, Illustrated London News, Punch, Manchester Guardian, Spectator и др.). Авторът се стреми да разгледа паралелно официалните и неофициалните документи, за да изясни мотивационната основа на британската външна политика.
