Abstract

The paper examines certain aspects of the dramatic works of Anatoly Lunacharsky. In his literary practice, Lunacharsky constructs a model reality characterised by an open dilemma, thereby engaging the spectator in a distinctive form of dialogue. He poses thought-provoking questions and encourages the audience to think prospectively, to explore alternatives for the future development of life’s spiritual dimensions, thus transforming the spectator into an active participant in his moral and philosophical explorations, and granting them the freedom to resolve issues for which no predetermined answers exist. The multidimensional model reality found in most of Lunacharsky’s plays remains especially relevant today, inviting contemporary audiences to reflect upon and seek solutions to enduring human problems.
