France, thе Balkans and thе Bulgarian People in thе 14th–15th Centuries

Abstract

The article is а first attempt at а full examination of the historlcal relations between France and the Bulgarian lands оn the background of the French Levantese policy and of the whole Balkan political situation at the time of the Ottoman invasion and establishment of Ottoman administration in South-east Europe. On the basis of the scientific informations coming from French chronicles, historles, memolrs and from official data in Ottoman Balkan аnd some other sources, а complex critical analysis is made and conclusions are given. Here are examined and conclusions are given оn the character of the historical relations among the French state, the Burgundy duchy and the peoples of South-East Еurорa.

It is evident that the interests both of France and Burgundy in these Balkan peoples were determined bу the aim of organizing later crusades оn varlons inner motives.

The and of the 15th century is the close of one phase in the French Levantese policy, hat the same time it is the end of her initiatlve in the crusades, which in themselves lost their sense.
