Thoughts on the Theory of Theatre

The subject of the article is the specific character and features of the theory of theatre. Is it possible and how can it be searched? Four different approaches to the development of the methodology of the theatrical theory are offered. They compare
characteristic features of the theory of theatre with those of the traditional theory and also reveal the inner structure and peculiarities of the theory of theatre.
