The Role of “Black Islam” and the Political, Economic, and Social Development of West Africa

In the study is examined the influence of Islam on the political, economical, and social life in some countries from the Western-African region, the peculiarities of this religion in Tropical Africa and its development into a certain kind of syncretism, allowing many researchers to use the term “Black Islam.” Clearly expressed is the interweaving of Islam with socialist terminology in the so-called countries with a “socialist orientation” and its turning into a specific ideology, having an impact on the domestic political situation in these countries.
